On 22.1 in Finland was the first election of the Finnish president,both Paula Vesala and Lauri Ylonen support on this election Pekka Haavisto,who will also compete on the second round of the election.But on last Sunday Pekka had a big event at Tavastia where both Paula and Lauri were invited to support him,Paula and Lauri came on stage to sing a cover song of the band MANIC STREET PREACHERS-”If you tolerate this your children will be next”,you can check sadly a bad quality of the performance here!

Even if in this year PMMP hasn’t been as active as a band as it was in the last years it didn’t mean that the girls and guys from the band didn’t have their own projects.This year was more about the individual projects and having a little break as a band also on the last part of the year they have and still are focusing on working on the 6th PMMP album that it will be release next year!

We tried today to make a small review of this year of what Paula and Mira and also the rest of the guys have done,hopefully we didn’t forget anything big and you are always welcome to check our site for the latests news,pictures,videos,interviews and so on,so here we go!

PMMP in 2011:

Emma Gaala 2011 was also a bit special this year,PMMP were there presenting the award for Best Male Artists which was won by Paleface and the girls also sing a part of Lautturi,also Mira was bloging live from her phone that day.
On the new season of Idols on the first show Mira Luoti was one of the guest judge,one of the girls who came to that audition,Martta Hakala also sang a part of PMMP song Lautturi,sadly during the competition Martta drop out,but she become in short time a “small” artists,she is also a PMMP fan and open up a PMMP gig at Nosturi.This year she also release a new song.
Paula Vesala also has been really busy this year,in May together with the violinist Pekka Kuusisto released an album together called Kiestinki which the lyrics are based on Paula’s grandmother war story’s,they’ve been doing in the summer some promotion for the album and also schedule a tour in Autumn 2011 but sadly it was cancel due some health problems and moved for the years 2012/2013
Besides the solo album together with Pekka Kuusisto, Paula also subscribe to the Theatre Academy in Helsinki and studying dramaturgy right now also she got the female main role in the new Finnish comedy 3 Simoa,who is schedule to be out in Spring of 2012,we are looking forward for the trailer and the movie!
Mira Luoti also has being doing some solo singing,in this summer/autumn she was one of the background singer of Jori’s band Magenta Skycode,fans could see her quiet often at the Magenta Skycode gig’s and if you are interested you can also see some videos with her singing.She also sing together with the boy’s band My first band at one of their gig’s and also she has been to one of the biggest celebration of Finland this year the winning of the Ice hockey team!
Besides Paula’s solo projects and acting career she also stayed at what she could do best,writing lyrics,so this year she has been quiet busy writing lyrics for artists like Freeman,Ville Leinonen and the winner of the Finnish Idols,Martti Saarinen!But we think the most important artists that Paula wrote the lyrics too was Katri Helena,which on one of her songs you can hear both Paula an Mira singing in background and the singer of The Rasmus,Lauri Ylonen compose the music for that song.Paula was also involve in this year Amnesty event and celebration of their 50th years and she sings on the latest Amnesty album the song Vanki which can be found on our site and also on YouTube.
Moving on to Mira’s plans in this summer you could see also her acting at Turku Summer theatre which she play on the Risto Räppääjä ja villi kone play,she was there for 2 months.Also on this winter you could also she her on the Christmas Rock show together with other Finnish artists.And we know for a fact that next year you will see more of her acting on the theatre stage!
Even though the band was on break PMMP just couldn’t just give up on the gig’s,even if they were less this year you could still see the band live,the first shows were at Nosturi for the MayDay celebration,then they had some fantastic summer festivals like Helsinki Prinde,Ruisrock…and on this winter they top with more gig’s and two special ones that take place on 30 and 31 December at Virgin Oil!
And we end up with some small news,the boy’s band My First Band release this year their second album and you can see them touring around Finland,I heard they make some really awesome shows and their album is great,so I would surely go to one of their gig’s.Also Paula gave this year the award for Finlandia Junior Prize which was won by Vilja-Tuulia Huotarinen with her book Valoa Valoa Valoa.Also at the beginning of this year you could have see Paula Vesala together with Lauri Ylonen at Jussi Gaala 2011,it was the second event when the couple show up together.Also both of them are supporting Pekka Haavisto for the presidency of Finland in 2012!Mira Luoti also start a video blog at this end of the year together with the support of the Finnish magazine Nyt,video blogs that are posted also here.

So this have been the most important news for this year about PMMP,we wish everyone,the band,the fans a Happy New Year!And we hope next one to bring you all what is good in this world and of course more PMMP and their new album!Onnellista Uutta Vuotta!

PMMP new song: 4ever Young!

In this winter gig’s that PMMP had they decided to play a new song that will be on their 6th album next year,the song is called 4ever Young and you can hear it now!The song was recorded from their live gig’s,enjoy and tell us your opinion about it.

Here is an interview with Mira Luoti taken in backstage at a show that she will be in,in March 2012.The interviewer ask how comes she is so energetic and Mira respond that she simply enjoy life and does a lot of sport.He ask her about the summer theatre and if she is going to act some more,but she said that she doesn’t know now if she is going to do more acting.She also says that after PMMP will release the new album they plan to go on a long gig’s tour.
